Rangers started the season off well.
Colby struck out 9 through 6 innings of work, giving up 2 in the 6th.
Kinsler scored on a Hamilton sac fly in the first. He scored again in the 3rd with the first Rangers home run of the season. Adam Dunn hit a solo home run in the sixth for the White Sox, while Rios scored from first on a single by Alexei Ramirez.
It was Michael Young’s eventual game winning single in the bottom of the 6th that drove in Hamilton with the go ahead run.
In the 7th, it was Ogando, back in the bullpen this year, striking out the side. If he continues to be this effective, then it will be a 6 inning game against the Rangers again this year.
Joe Nathan made his Rangers debut, needing only 11 pitches to get out of the 9th, striking out Gordon Beckham, and getting his first save.
Napoli stuck out 3 times, while Nelson Cruz and David Murphy each stuck out twice.
From the reports, Nolan Ryan went and visited with new Sox skipper Robin Ventura before the game. So, is everything finally cool between them now? I hope not. Otherwise, this just won’t have the same affect on me.
