No, I’m not talking about how we ate the seafood these past couple of days. That’s what Stephanie and I look like. More fire engine red than golden brown, but you get the idea. We are packing up now to head home. Hopefully it won’t take nine hours to get home. Plus, we’ll be behind dad, our very own Mario Andretti, to cruise behind. Let’s hope he doesn’t get another ticket going through Tivoli again. We’ve had fun these past few days. It went quick. We sat out at the beach most of the time. Though yesterday we picked up early and went to do the ‘tourist’ shopping. I’ll write more later tonight when we get home.
Zoe says Hi!

Wednesday Fiasco
Seriously!!! Okay, so my parents went to Port A last weekend and are out of town. Stephanie parents left yesterday morning to take her grand parents back home to Michigan. Goodrich to be exact. So we had to take Zoe to a lady from church yesterday and today. We had planned to get everything packed last night becuase we were going to drive down to Port A tonight to make for a long weekend. I picked up Zoe and was just about home when she started hurling Buick’s in the back seat. STINKY!!! No big deal, until I walk inside. Man, it sure seemed hot. Thermostat read 83!?! WTF? Why would Stephanie set the thermostat to 83….oh wait, no its set to 75…hmmm. Okay. I give Zoe a bath and get her cleaned up. Then it started to rain. Steph got home and took Zoe while I looked outside at the A/C unit. The line from the unit to inside was completely frozen over. WTF? Its over 100 degrees and I have ice frozen over on the line. Okay. We got on the schedule for Thursday, and tried to do some packing but with no air circulation, Steph had had enough so we grabbed some clothes for work and some stuff for Zoe and headed to her parents empty house. Well long story short the refrigerant was low by about 2 lbs. Now its 4pm on Thursday, my car still need to get unloaded from work, we still gotta finish packing, Zoe running around in just a diaper(its still 80 inside, man that electric bill is going to suck). Still waiting on Steph to get home. Plus I need to mow, otherwise Gizmo won’t poop outside because the grass ‘tickles’ his ass. So I’m hoping we can get outta here and on the road by 6pm. That’s in a hour and forty five minutes. Wishful thinking.
Good morning, sunshine
Backyard stir fry

Summer is definitely here in Texas. I was happy to find that the sunflowers in the front had bloomed last Thursday. It was refreshing as I pulled out of the drive way and saw that bright yellow shine across the yard. The head on them had been getting bigger and bigger for the last week. The one in the backyard is as high as fence and no head in sight yet.
I dug up the potatoes today. I had planted a few some months back just to see what they would do and if it would be worth my trouble to plant a mass of them in the fall. To my surprise, I found a small bounty of them nestled just under the dirt. SWEET!! They weren’t that big, though they were large enough to slice and dice for dinner.
Finally, Stephanie and I could make the stir fry complete from the backyard:
Potatoes
Onions
Squash
Zucchini
Bell Pepper
Wimpy Tomato
Banana Pepper
We had that and a nice Rib-eye for dinner. Both were delicious and well enjoyed. Needless to say, potatoes will now be grown in the garden. I’m pumped. The tomatoes I transplanted from the buckets several weeks back are doing extremely better. They look some much healthier and have grown a lot, compared to the scraggly looking ‘maters still in the five gallon buckets.
It’s all about Zoe
Took some photos of Zoe last night. Here is a sample. I’ll post more this evening.

Stupidity at it’s best
Driving to work the other day while it was pouring rain and flash floods were popping up everywhere. Pardon my french about halfway through.
Look what the cat brought in
Well we can officially add crawfish to the list of items brought in from outside by the cat.

Here is a list of things the cat has brought in:
- Snakes
- Junebugs
- Roaches
- Mice
- Lizards
- Crawfish
The not so nice side….
So, there was a certain someone that wondered if there was any other side of Zoe other than the cute happy one. Here she is throwing a fit because she wants her mommy. Enjoy.
The end where you can see me talking I was supposed to say something like, “That one was for you, Aunt Sissy.” But it didn’t really work.
Like father, like daughter

Okay so Zoe was sticking her finger in different places on her face that she has found recently and is learning the concept of ‘picking your nose’. I decided to play along, but she apparently thought that I wasn’t supposed to be doing it with her at the same time, as shown by her face.
Squash, Zucchini

Well its looking like these guys are going to be heavy producers this year. Not sure if they’ll top the onions just yet. I’m sure. I seriously need to invest in a scale, and soon. We’ve picked about 10 or so already, having picked 2 today. The photos are just 24 days apart. Mom came over sometime a week or so ago and was amazed at how quickly they grew. Me too! I didn’t give them enough room last year to grow and came up empty handed.
